Now, I don’t think my mom reads this blog so I think it’s safe to post a photo of the card I made for her. It’s hard living in the UK, and keeping track of two different mothers’ days! But I think I just may have posted it off in time.

The main stamped image is the Bella Toile stamp, which looks gorgeous done in black and white, but for this I stamped in basic gray and coloured in using inks and the blender pens. I tried another fun thing with this card, which was working with the pretties kit.
The Pretties kit comes with a huge array of lovely things to play with. The flowers are white but can be transformed into any of the exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours using ink, pastels or even the water colour crayons. I dyed two flowers, stacked them and finished it off with a half back pearl, also from the pretties kit.

On the Stampin’ Up! scene, this is big big news! The day before this was announced in the US, the forums were ablaze with rumours about what the big announcement was going to be. True to Stampin’ Up! style, they want to set and keep up with trends in colours, so they’ve decided to renovate the current colour families. For us in the UK, the renovation will not take effect until our new catalogue in October.
Unfortunately, it means that some of the colours in the repertoire will be retiring, but the new colours are fabulous and I’m sure that like me, you won’t be able to get your hands on them fast enough! And of course if one of your favourites is going away, you will have until the end of September to stock up on paper, ink, ribbons, buttons etc.
Here is a look at the Colour Renovation!

And here is a link to the retiring colours.

I don’t know about you, but I love the 2010 catalogue, and six months on, I’m still not tired of flipping through it. But Stampin’ Up! continues to keep things exciting by releasing a mini-catalogue with 23 pages full of new stamps and amazing products.
To have a look at the catalogue online, click here.
There are a few favourites from inside this little book, and here is a look at one of them:

Vintage Vogue is a set of 8 stamps, also has a coordinating jumbo wheel.
I couldn’t wait to get stamping with it, so here are some card ideas using Vintage Vogue.

Have you considered hosting a workshop in your home? Maybe you think you can’t, well I think you can! It’s a great way to earn free Stampin’ Up! products and have a great time with friends.

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is being able to get our hands on stamp sets before everyone else. With the four sets that are available to earn with the Sale-a-bration event, we were allowed to order one set.
The vintage labels set really caught my eye because of the …. well, the vintagey feel! I love that style!
Here are two cards made with that set.
Some of you will look at this card and think – really? tempting turquoise? but sometimes you need something bright, and besides the colours of turquoise, cameo coral and chocolate chip look great together! The circular image coordinates with the scalloped circle punch too! I punched out the center of the image and popped it up and put the greeting inside. At the end, I realized it needed something a bit more and played around with putting the paper piercing in various different spots, and finally came up with just 5 or 6 of them inside the circle.

This card uses the rectangular image. I created a frame by stamping it on some heavy card, and cut out the centre by hand. Then I stamped the image again on vanilla card stock, placed the frame over top and stamped an image in the centre. This card also uses bits of designer paper from the Bella Bleu series.

Yes, 2010 is coming, but that’s not what I’m most excited about! It’s the Annual Stampin’ Up! promotion, sale-a-bration.

This is the best event Stampin’ Up! does, giving away free stamp sets for each £45 in sales. And the stamp sets are absolutely gorgeous, here is a quick look at them.

These four stamp sets are not for sale, they can only be earned during this event over January and February. If you have a few things that you want, then perhaps think about saving up to reach the £45 and get your favourite set. As well you might think about hosting a party in order to earn a free set, in addition to all the other hostess benefits. Contact me by email if you have any questions!

Welcome to Kimberlight and the 12 Blogs of Christmas!
Please get comfy, and enjoy the ride! After you’ve looked around my little blog, please move on to see ‘Stampin with Val‘, she’s a lovely lady and ever so creative.

I’m loving stamping on candles at the minute, so here is a lovely candle with bashful blue snowflakes that have been coated with Dazzlin’ Diamonds. The snowflakes are very subtle, more subtle than I intended really, but adding the strip of double stitched grograin ribbon brings out more of the colour. Invite me over for a Christmas party this year and you will win one of these!!!! I also must note that I managed to do most of this candle with a 3 year old on my lap! Now THAT is amazing!

And using the same Snowburst stamp set (page 23 of the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue), here is a Christmas Card that doesn’t have any red or green! the base is Kraft card, with a bit of Bella Bleu Designer Paper. The Ink is Night of Navy and the ribbon is white 1/4” grograin. The ribbon is attached with sticky strip and maneuvered into place one little loop at a time.
Please leave me a comment, I would love to know who stopped by today!
Now, continue your blog hop on the 12 blogs of Christmas by visiting Val on ‘Stampin’ with Val‘ or you can go round the circuit the other direction by visiting Amanda at the ‘Craft Spa‘ – either way, you’ll eventually end up back with me!

It’s been far too long since my last blog. I’ve been quite busy this last month and a half with SU parties and all the excitement with the new catalogue. Among all the UK demonstrators there has also been loads of excitement around the 1st annual SU convention. Sadly, I wasn’t able to attend, but have lived vicariously through many of the other demo’s stories. I particularly like Monica’s story…find it here.
In the last couple weeks, I’ve been busy planning some classes and workshops around stamping on candles. I have a faithful group of ladies – I call them Mavis’ Girls, who got an exclusive class earlier this week. I wish I had taken some pictures of some of their gorgeous creations.

This gorgeous candle is almost exactly SU’s real red. It’s the perfect shade to try some of Stampin’ Up!’s rub ons. The pretty swirly flower pattern is from the Cherish Memories Rub on’s. The little tag is created by using a matching rub on on a circle of red, surrounded by a scalloped circle in white. I added some extra interest by using the 1/8th inch handheld punch – one in each scallop! My hostess earlier this week is the new owner of this beauty!

This candle turned out pretty good for my first ever attempt to stamp on candles. This one uses a retired stamp set, which was one of my favourites and uses lovely Autumn colours: Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie and Mellow Moss.

And finally, this pretty little thing was a breeze to make and uses a Christmassy wheel called ‘So Swirly’ in Ruby Red and a strip of Old Olive ribbon at the bottom. I am planning on making a number of these for Christmas gifts.
